A downloadable game for Windows
This is prototype is being evolved into a full game: Ash & Adam's GOBSMACKED
Made for SAGJ 2021.
The theme was "The Urge To Discover". I decided to try a less literal approach to the theme and explored the idea of discovering synergies with different upgrades and builds in a fast paced archery arena.
Controls:
- WASD to move
- Press, hold & release left click to shoot an arrow
- i to invert mouse look
- 9 / 0 to decrease / increase mouse sensitivity
- Space to jump and wall jump
- Right click to dash

fantastic game, this should become a full game. i have also played gobsmacked but it was nothing compared to this on my opinion. if you could, are you able to make a whole game of this?

Good insight… while developing we felt there were 2 different directions to go with this and we picked the faster more chaotic version for Gobsmacked.
We really liked the slower more strategic parts of Welcome Archer so maybe we we turn that into a full game in the future.
Would you mind sharing what parts of this you enjoyed the most? Like what would you really want to see / do in a full game?
I really liked that Welcome Archer had infinite ammo (just makes life easier imo), i had to somehow deal with gravity affecting my arrow, and as you said, the game was slow unliked gobsmacked which was really fast paced. I would really love to see a full game and within it, more enemy types, more powerups, and possibly more type of bows and arrows (??). i believe this game is the perfect game for people who wants to get into fps games which is why i loved it so much.
